At Hilltop Cottage Ceramics, we create small-batch pottery to be used and loved over time. Each timeless piece is made by hand with thoughtful intention, to bring warmth, light, and comfort to your daily rituals.

All studio pieces are unique and reflect the marks of the making process including wheel throwing lines and subtle differences in form and glaze finishing.

The Burrow, our cozy home studio on Vancouver Island, is situated between the forest and the sea. The rural surroundings shape the rhythm of each day and our approach to balancing the creative process with family life. Studio practices are as regenerative as possible. This involves recycling clay, reusing water, and up-cycling glaze materials. The studio is shaded by old growth fir trees, surrounded by gardens, and built using reclaimed wood. Future plans include installing solar panels to generate electricity on sunny west coast days.

We respectfully acknowledge that the land and waters on which we live, work and play are the traditional, ancestral and unceded territories of the Quw'utsun' peoples:  Cowichan Tribes, Halalt First Nation, Stz'uminus First Nation, Ts'uubaa-asatx First Nation, Lyackson First Nation, and Penelakut Tribe.
